Schedule

Weekly Schedule (subject to change)

Please note: We will usually meet in class on all Mondays and some Wednesdays. Because the beginning of the semester falls near Labor Day, the second week has Thursday following a Monday schedule. This means the first time we will meet in person will be Monday September 9th! Please keep in touch with me by email (yolandebrener.ccny@gmail.com) or text 917-650-0515. I will respond between 7-9pm every day. Please make sure you are able to use Blackboard, both to read and respond to posts in the discussion area. If you have any issues, please contact me ASAP!

Respond to the question on the discussion board about your expectations for the class. Please respond to at least one other post.

Your homework will be to introduce yourself in the Introductions Discussion Board on Blackboard. Please answer the first three questions in your introduction and one other.

Please respond to at least one of your classmates. If you aren’t sure what to write, please feel free to use my introduction as an example.

Interviews In class we will revisit the interview materials and discuss how to conduct an effective, focused interview. We will read examples of good interviews and examine interviewing tactics. Bring your questions to class. During class, we will discuss our interviews. You will continue your interview in person, and critique each other’s interview essays

Peer Review Send your interview partner any remaining comments. Add to the paragraph about your first impressions anything that occurred when you met your interviewee in person.

Bring to class one or two ideas for your oped, and one supporting source of information. In class we will talk about how to use sources for your oped. We will also discuss your ideas.
